The Ukrainian government hopes to receive $1.5-2 billion from the European Commission and international financial institutions to modernize the country's gas transportation system, Vice Premier Hryhoriy Nemyria has said.
“The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, the International Finance Corporation, the European Commission and Ukraine have reached agreement on steps that will help the country get access to $1.5-2 billion worth of investment late in autumn, we mean October-November, in order to modernize the Ukrainian gas sector,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
The official hryvnia exchange rate for September 3 is UAH 7.985/$1.
