Over 300 members of Ukraine's Interior Ministry and National Guard units have been killed in the two-year military operation in the country's southeast, Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said.
“Over these two years, 308 people have been killed at Interior Ministry and National Guard units. That includes 205 members of voluntary battalions (108 national guards from Donbas, Azov, Kulchytsky Battalion and 97 members of the Interior Ministry battalions). A total of 1,228 personnel have been injured, including 701 voluntary-battalion members. Forty-one fighters are missing. And ten (according to our information) are being held captive,” Avakov wrote on his Facebook page on Monday.
Kyiv announced the launch of the military operation in Donbas in mid-April 2014.
