Opposition leader Victor Yanukovych was ahead in Ukraine's presidential election with 49.6 percent of the vote against 44.7 for bitter rival Yulia Tymoshenko with just over half of votes counted.
The central election commission based the figures on 52.08 percent of votes counted in the early hours of Monday.
