You're reading: Ukrainian armed forces chief of staff discusses reform with NATO Military Committee chairman

Ukrainian armed forces Commander and chief of staff Viktor Muzhenko has discussed the situation in eastern Ukraine, the reform of the Ukrainian armed forces, and their transition to NATO standards with NATO Military Committee Chairman Gen. Petr Pavel.

“The NATO Military Committee chairman’s visit to Ukraine indicates NATO’s consistent support for our reforms in the defense area,” the Ukrainian Defense Ministry quoted Muzhenko as saying on April 21.

The ministry also quoted Pavel as saying that Ukraine has achieved significant results and that the work it has done is impressive, especially considering that the fighting in the eastern part of the country is ongoing.
