The parliament's blocking by the Regions Party confirms that the party doesn't have a well-defined strategy and tactics, Ukrainian expert have said.
“The events of this week could be called nothing else but a theatre
of the absurd,” President of the Open Policy Analytical Center Ihor
Zhdanov said at a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine.
He said that the Regions Party has every opportunity to realize its
goals; they have enough votes to adopt a law on social standards.
“But it is impossible to understand why this draft law is not voted on,” Zhdanov said.
Director of the Kyiv Center for Political and Conflict Studies
Mykhailo Pohrebynsky said the Regions Party doesn’t have any clear
strategy and tactics guiding its activity.
“Obviously, currently the Regions Party doesn’t have a well-considered strategy or tactics,” Pohrebynsky said.
At the same time, according to the expert, the blocking of parliament is linked with the future presidential elections.
Director of the Penta Center of Political Studies Volodymyr Fesenko,
in turn, said that the actions of the Regions Party are
incomprehensible.
“The situation at the Verkhovna Rada is not a subject of political
analysis, this is a subject for a psychiatrist,” Fesenko said.
The expert also added that he doesn’t see any serious rational basis for such behavior.
