The Ukrainian government moved, at the initiative of Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk, to temporarily ban transportation of cargo through the administrative border between Ukraine and Crimea.

The respective decision was adopted at the emergency government meeting on Nov. 23, the press service of Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers said.

Meanwhile, the press service said, Yatsenyuk tasked the Ukrainian government’s team under the direction of Ukraine’s Ministry of Economic Development and Trade with drafting, in conformity with the law, a government order containing a detailed list of goods, works and services that may be sold to Crimea and composing a respective list of products.

“To make sure that the list of products is consistent primarily with Ukraine’s interests, I suggest inviting the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People [to participate] so that such a decision could serve, in particular, the interests of our fraternal Crimean Tatar people,” Yatsenyuk said.
