You're reading: Ukrainian international reserves fall 8.5 percent in eight months

The National Bank of Ukraine's international reserves fell 8.5% to $28.871 billion in January-August, the NBU said on its website.

The reserves fell 2.6% in August.

The NBU sold $865.6 million more forex on the market than it bought in August and $1.121 billion more in July.

Its overall turnover on the inter-bank market was 10.4% lower than in July at $10.962 billion.

The hryvnia fell 3.8% to UAH 7.989/$1, 6.1% to UAH 11.4754/EUR 1 and 4.4% to UAH 2.5307/RUR 10 in August.

The international reserves fell 2.8% to $31.543 billion in 2008.
