A number of military and civil volunteers in Ukraine have initiated the establishment of a Human Freedoms Party, head of NGO Society of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Veterans, Aidar Battalion volunteer Kyrylo Serheyev has announced.

“We’re calling on people to get united around a new political force – the Party of Human Freedoms, where a freedom means the rule of law. It is only the force of law that is the common freedom of the population,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.

“We urge all participants in the ATO, volunteers, professionals to join us for the protection of Ukraine, to create a new political force being built on the principle that “power is not a privilege but sacrifice for the sake of Ukraine,” he said.

Complete change of the state system is among the main goals of the party’s program.

“We will build a state by maximizing the advantages of new technologies. Reforms must be carried out by professionals. The judicial and law enforcement systems will be reformed – the irreversible punishment will be introduced for each offense. Taxes will be reduced,” he outlined the party’s plans.

The party will also work to bring the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the highest professional level, Serheyev said.

Six initiative groups are working now to invite people to join the Human Freedoms Party, the total number of party members exceeds 300 people as of today, he said.
