You're reading: Ukrainian MPs not being paid for days parliament was blocked

Ukrainian people's deputies in September were paid only for the work they did in constituencies and their factions, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn told journalists on Monday.

“If the Verkhovna Rada does not work in a plenary mode, wages for
the period are not credited. If the people’s deputies work in
committees, districts and factions, the committees and factions submit
documents for wages themselves,” he said.

Lytvyn said he had signed an order under which on plenary meeting
days, when the work of the parliament is blocked, wages are not
credited to deputies.
