The Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) (UOCMP) plans to renew its dialog with the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church and to hold a dialog with representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Kyiv Patriarchate).

Such a decision was taken at a meeting of the Holy Synod of the UOCMP in Kyiv on Wednesday, the press secretary for primate of the Church (Kyiv Patriarchate), Archpriest Heorhiy Kovalenko told the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

The Synod held the meeting at the Pochaiv Lavra.

The participants decided to renew Synod Commission of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Kyiv Patriarchate) regarding the dialog with the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.

In addition, the representatives decided to form a working group responsible for the preparation of the dialog with the representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Kyiv Patriarchate).

“We have the problem – there is a split of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, [and] it is necessary to hold a dialog to solve this problem,” Kovalenko said.
