The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, voted down on Tuesday a bill on raising the living wages and minimum subsistence level.

The bill on introducing relevant changes to this year’s state budget was supported at second reading by 200 lawmakers, with the necessary minimum being 226. Only MPs of the Regions Party, Communist Party and the Bloc of Lytvyn factions took part in the voting.

Immediately after the vote, members of the Regions Party faction, which has been insisting on the passing of this law, blocked the parliament’s rostrum and presidium.
