Nearly 3,080 Ukrainians have been released from captivity or found, adviser to the chief of the SBU Security Service of Ukraine Yuriy Tandit has told Hromadske.TV.

“As of now, 3,080 people have either been released from captivity or located. There are places where our people are still kept. They are held by those people who are controlled by Kremlin proxies. These are the places where they are kept unlawfully,” Tandit said.

In his words, 107 Ukrainians are held in captivity in temporarily occupied territory in eastern Ukraine, while nine people are unlawfully imprisoned in Russia, he said.

Militants from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic have officially confirmed that 45 Ukrainians are held captive, he added.
