You're reading: Ukrainian side asks OSCE to strengthen patrolling on some directions over militants’ shellings

Armed adversaries of the Kyiv authorities have fired 82mm and 120mm mortars more than 20 times on Ukrainian positions from Nov. 7 to 9, though they said about the pullback of this military hardware, the press center of the military operation in Donbas said on Nov. 9.

Meanwhile, the press center referred to the data of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC).

The Ukrainian JCCC side is particularly concerned by “not isolated facts of use by the LPR/DPR militia of types of weapons which should have been withdrawn to the set distance under Addendum 1 of the Supplement to the Feb. 12, 2015 Package of Measures in the part concerning the pullback of tanks, artillery guns with a caliber up to 100mm and mortars with a caliber up to 120mm [inclusively],” says a statement released, following a press briefing of the Ukrainian JCCC side and the OSCE monitoring mission published on the website of the press center.

According to the data of the Ukrainian military, over the past three days the militia “has used 82mm and 120mm mortars more than 20 times, though on their propagandistic resources they have posted information about the pullback of these types of weapons from the contact line.”

On Nov. 8 against the previous day the militants have almost doubled the number of shellings on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions, head of the Ukrainian JCCC side Maj. Gen. Borys Kremenetsky said. The situation is particularly tense on the Donetsk and Horlivka directions.

Due to the shellings on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions, the number of which, according to the claims of the military, is constantly growing, the Ukrainian side asked the OSCE SMM to strengthen the patrolling on several directions.

The head of the Ukrainian JCCC side also said that Ukrainian army units “will be giving a decisive rebuff to the actions of illegal armed units.”
