Ukraine's television and radio companies are to change their broadcasting schedules for the period of the presidential elections, according to press service of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting.

“The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting at its sitting on December 9, 2009 satisfied the applications of some TV and radio organizations regarding the change of broadcasting schedules in line with the acting legislation so as to air election campaign on state TV and radio companies using funds from the state budget,” the reports says.

Thus, for the period of the election campaign, changes to the broadcasting schedules of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhia, Lviv, Odesa, Chernivtsi, Kharkiv regional state television and radio companies and Krym state TV and radio company have been approved. TV and radio companies were recommended to agree on broadcasting schedules with the channels that cooperate with them without causing a reduction in broadcasting time.
