Ukrainian citizens can now stay in Belarus without registering with the authorities for up to 30 days after the Ukrainian government adopted a relevant agreement on Wednesday.

“The government … has adopted the agreement on a free visa regime with Belarus, which the Ukrainian premier signed in June, 2009,” Deputy Foreign Minister, Kostiantyn Yeliseyev said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.

Yeliseyev noted that earlier Ukrainians could stay on the territory of Belarus without registering for up to three days.

“With this decision we canceled an improper regulation, [and] an imparity that existed before,” he said.
