Oleksiy Tutov, a 26-year-old medic from Kerch who provided medical assistance to those injured in the fighting on Hrushevskiy Street, was sent to jail, announced the coordinator of EuroMaidan’s medical center, Oleh Musiy.
On Jan. 22, Tutov provided medical assistance to victims on
Hrushevskiy Street when Berkut fighters tried to outflank the
protesters.
The man was in full medical gear: special helmet with a red cross, a
white shirt with a large medical Red Cross on the back and front.
For a few days, there was no contact with the doctor. According to
Musiy, protesters believed that Tutov gone to rest. No one could even
imagine that someone could detain a medical man.
Tutov informed others about his arrest by calling from the Lukianivka
isolation ward. During his detention, he was severely beaten; the man
had no warm clothing, either.
UP also learned that Holosiyivsky court convicted Tutov to 2 months of detention for assaulting Special Forces.
The Medical Service of EuroMaidan has signed an agreement regarding
legal assistance with attorney Natalia Lisnevsky, and she will take care
of cases such as Oleksiy’s.
