You're reading: UNICEF project to help deprived children starts in Khmelnytsky

The Development of the Gatekeeping Policies and Systems for Institutionalized and Other Vulnerable Children project has started in Khmelnytsky region, Natalia Blazhevych, the press secretary of Khmelnytsky regional council, has told Interfax-Ukraine.

The program is jointly financed by the representatives of the
European Commission and the United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF in
Ukraine. Investment into the project is EUR 500,000.

“The main goal of the joint project is developing mechanisms for the
transformation of the current institution based system of state care of
children without parental care into a family-based system,” Blazhevych
said.
