MOSCOW - United States Ambassador to Russia John Tefft on Saturday laid a wreath on behalf of the American people at the scene of Boris Nemtsov's murder at the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge.

The ambassador said he was there with his deputy and the embassy staff to represent the U.S. President and the American people to remember the man who was known to them as a statesman, a politician, and, to many Americans, a friend.

Tefft added that they wanted to honor his memory and the values that he stood for, and said he hopes that some of Nemtsov’s dreams would become a reality in a future Russia.
