Vice Consul of China's Consulate General in Odesa Zhou Xin Wei, who was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Crimea last week, died on Tuesday, Deputy head of the Crimean republican center for emergency medicine Oleksandr Dvorsky has told Interfax-Ukraine.
According to him, notwithstanding the efforts of doctors, the vice-consul, aged 35, died in hospital on Tuesday morning.
As reported, the motorcade of the Chinese delegation heading from
Yalta to Simferopol collided with a VAZ-2107 car outside Yalta on
September 24. The driver of the VAZ car was killed in the collision.
Six people, including two members of the Chinese delegation and four
Ukrainians, were injured.
Those injured included China’s vice consul in Ukraine, who suffered
a skull fracture, and a military attache of the Chinese embassy in
Ukraine whose condition is now satisfactory. Two Ukrainians were
passengers of a VAZ-2107 car, and two other Ukrainians were
accompanying the delegation. They suffered various injuries and will
undergo outpatient treatment.
