You're reading: Video conference on date for Minsk talks postponed indefinitely

A video conference at which the date for the next meeting of representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics (DPR and LPR) and Ukrainian officials in Minsk was to be set has been canceled at the OSCE's request, Vladyslav Deineho, an LPR envoy at the negotiations, told Interfax on Dec. 10.

“The date for the negotiations has still not been agreed upon at the moment,” Deineho said.

“The video conference on determining the date was supposed to take place at 2 p.m. Moscow time, but OSCE officers called right before its start and asked that it be postponed indefinitely,” he said.

“It was originally planned that two dates for the negotiations would be discussed, Dec. 11 and 12,” he said.

“But if the conference is not held today, the 11th will fall down for purely technical reasons, and the 12th or later dates will be discussed,” Deineho said.
