MOSCOW - Ukrainian authorities said three Ukrainian soldiers had been killed in the east of the country, as international observers warned of a serious uptick in fighting following a truce earlier this month.
Ukrainian military spokesman Oleksandr Motuzyanyk said in a briefing on Sept. 13 that three soldiers had been killed and fifteen wounded in fighting against Russia-backed rebel forces. He said government forces had been hit by shelling and had clashed with rebels attempting to advance toward Ukrainian lines.
