The leader of the Party of Regions Viktor Yanukovych has said that accusations by Ukrainian authorities that Russia allegedly attacks Ukraine's territorial integrity are disrespect.

“When one speaks about any threats, for example, the abolishment of sovereignty and territorial integrity, this is disrespect to those countries, which are our strategic partners. First, I mean Russia,” he said, answering questions of the sixth YES summit participants on Saturday.

Yanukovych said that the unbalanced foreign policy affects adversely on the economic situation in Ukraine.

“In particular, a clear parallel with the gas issue is seen,” he said.

Yanukovych said that problems in the gas sphere between Ukraine and Russia started with the arrival of the president Ukrainian authorities, which destructed the existed agreement base.

He said that Ukrainian diplomats should protect national interests of Ukraine and build bilateral relations with Russia and other countries on the mutually beneficial basis.
