Ukraine will create free trade zones with the EU and the CIS in 2012, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said.

"We will determine the legal conditions of our economic cooperation with our international partners, the main condition being the creation of a free trade zone with the EU and the CIS, in 2012," Yanukovych said during the opening the Ukrainian parliament session on Tuesday.

The president said he is hoping such decisions will be backed by the parliament.

After finishing his speech, Yanukovych left the parliament, accompanied by the chanting "Disgrace!" by parliamentarians from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc – Batkivschyna and applause from the Party of Regions deputies.
