Ukrainian opposition leader Viktor Yanukovych recieved 51.36 percent of the vote in Sunday's presidential election ahead of his rival, Yulia Tymoshenko, with 44.16 percent, according to initial offical results.
The Central Election Commission announced the results on its Web site after counting 2.07 percent of the vote.
