The leader of the Party of Regions, Viktor Yanukovych, has said that after presidential election to be held in 2010 in Ukraine, the issue of the creation of comfort conditions for development of Russian language and culture in Ukraine would be settled.
“I’m sure that the present situation in relations
between Ukraine and Russia is morbid. This happened five years ago with
the arrival of the present authorities. The policy conducted by Ukraine
in relations with Russia has led to the present state,” he said on
Saturday.
He said that he would do his best to implement the European charter of regional languages or languages of minority groups.
