Ukraine's new president Viktor Yanukovych has dismissed regional governors appointed by his predecessor Viktor Yushchenko.

The relevant decrees were signed and posted on the official Web site of the head of state on March 18.

The decrees state that the governors were dismissed due to the termination of office of president of Ukraine.

Thus, Ivan Havchuk was dismissed as head of Khmelnytsky Regional State Administration, Volodymyr Kulish as head of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration, Yuriy Zabela as head of Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, Victor Vakarash as head of Kyiv Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Starukh as head of Zaporizhia Regional Administration, Mykola Serdiuk as head of Odesa Regional Administration, Oleh Havashi as head of Zakarpattia Regional Administration, Oleksiy Harkusha as head of the Mykolayiv Regional Administration, Oleksandr Antipov as head of Luhansk Regional Administration, Borys Silenkov – as head of Kherson Regional Administration, and Volodymyr Lohvynenko as head of Donetsk Regional Administration.
