On the occasion of his forthcoming official visit to Japan, scheduled for Jan. 17-21, 2011, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych gave an interview to representatives of leading Japanese media. When asked about the misuse of funds received under the Kyoto Protocol by the Ukrainian ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Viktor Yanukovych said: "Unfortunately, the previous government has indeed used a part of the received funds for other purposes.The new government had a clear task: to return these funds and took a tough decision to allocate money from the general fund of the state budget.
