Party of Regions Leader Viktor Yanukovych doesn’t expect that President Viktor Yuschenko will introduce the state of emergency to frustrate the presidential election in Ukraine.
“I hardly believe that President Viktor Yuschenko will yield to imposing the emergency rule in the country,” he said on air of Chernihiv regional television and radio company on Friday.
The president will not take such a decision as the Verkhovna Rada won’t support it, the politician said.
At the same time, there may be other scenarios of disrupting the presidential elections in the country and the Party of Regions is preparing to respond if such threats arise, Yanukovych added.
