Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk on March 15 met with the former head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, businessman and co-owner of PrivatBank Ihor Kolomoisky as a shareholder of Ukrnafta

“Yesterday I had a meeting with Ukrnafta Head Mark Rollins, with the shareholders of Ukrnafta, while the company’s stockholders are both individuals and Naftogaz Ukrainy,” Yatseniuk said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.Earlier mass media reported that Kolomoisky visited the Cabinet on March 15.

Naftogaz Ukrainy owns a 50% plus one share stake in Ukrnafta, a group of companies associated with the shareholders of PrivatBank about 42% of the shares, particularly the supervisory council of company includes Ihor Kolomoisky and Hennadiy Boholiubov.

Ukrnafta minority shareholders last year filed a lawsuit to British and Swedish arbitration courts against Ukraine, demanding a payment of $5 billion from the state as compensation for the actions of the government and Naftogaz Ukrainy restricting the company’s possibility of selling gas. The minority shareholders, who have controlled the management of Ukrnafta until recently, said such restrictions are the main reason for a long delay in dividend payment to the state and the formation of a tax debt exceeding Hr 10.2 billion.
