Ukraine's Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has asked Social Policy Minister Pavlo Rozenko to prepare an increase of social standards by 6 percent on May 1, the government said on its website.

The corresponding decision was taken on the special Cabinet’s meeting on March 21.

Yatsenyuk said the Social Policy Ministry received instructions to prepare a special government resolution to ensure an automatic increase of salaries and pensions, avoiding excessive bureaucracy.

Social standards would be raised by 12 percent overall this year, Yatsenyuk said.
