The lawyer for the Russian man Yevgeny Yerofeyev, who was convicted in Ukraine, is considering filing an appeal against the verdict that the Holosiyivsky district court of Kyiv has issued against her client.
“Yes, most likely, we will file an appeal,” Oksana Sokolovska told Interfax, after the verdict was announced on April 18.
It was reported that on April 18, a panel of judges at the Kyiv court sentenced Yerofeyev and another Russian, Alexander Alexandrov, to 14 years of imprisonment. The verdict is due to come into effect ten days after being announced, unless appealed.
Alexandrov’s defense attorney Valentin Rybin said a decision on whether to file an appeal will be made after receiving the text of the verdict.
