Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has called on Premier Yulia Tymoshenko to resolve the issue of financing repair work on the road across the Dnipro hydroelectric power station dam in Zaporizhia and constructing bridges across the Dnipro.
“I’m extremely anxious about the state of the road across the Dnipro
hydroelectric power station dam and the road bridge construction across
the Dnipro in Zaporizhia,” Yushchenko said, according to the
presidential press service.
According to the president, the UAH 4 million allocated by the
government of the UAH 7.7 million foreseen is not enough for the repair
and construction work of the road across the Dnipro hydroelectric power
station dam in Zaporizhia in 2009.
Yushchenko highlighted the importance of the construction of the
highway across the Dnipro for Zaporizhia. The total of UAH 100 million
foreseen by the state budget enables the continuation of the
construction of the new bridges only partially.
“I insist on the allocation of at least UAH 2 million from the
Ukrainian budget for 2009 to finish the repair and construction work of
the road bridge across the Dnipro hydroelectric power station dam in
Zaporizhia, and an additional UAH 100 million to continue construction
of bridges across the Dnipro,” the president said.
Yushchenko also said it was necessary to review the financing of the construction work for next year.
