Ukrainian President Victor Yuschenko has awarded the Hero of Ukraine title to Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko MP Hryhoriy Omelchenko, as well as the Order of Yaroslav the Wise (second degree) to Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Volodymyr Stelmakh.
The president also awarded the Order of Yaroslav the Wise (fourth degree) to Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine Valentyn Nalyvaichenko and the Order of Merit (first degree) to First Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration Anatoliy Holubchenko.
First Deputy Head of the Ukrainian State Border Service and Director of the State Border Guard Department Pavlo Shysholin was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky (first degree).
"I’d like you to accept the awards that I’m presenting today on behalf of the Ukrainian state in view of your high goals and high priorities," Yuschenko said during the award ceremony in Kyiv on Thursday.
