Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has left on an official visit to Belgium.

Under the visit’s program the Ukrainian president is to meet on
Thursday with King Albert II of Belgium. This day, the Ukrainian
president is also to meet with European Commission President Jose
Manuel Barroso and newly appointed President of the European Parliament
Jerzy Buzek.

Yuschenko will also trip to Antwerp and meet with the city’s
leadership. A memorandum on cooperation between Odesa Merchant Maritime
Port and the port of Antwerp is to be signed at the meeting.

On Thursday, the president is also to meet with President of the
Belgian Senate Armand De Decker, President of the Belgian Chamber of
Representatives is Patrick Dewael, Belgian Prime Minister Herman Van
Rompuy.

The talks of the Ukrainian and Belgian delegations will follow. The
two countries are expected to sign agreements between the Ministry of
Labor and Social Policy of Ukraine and the Belgian Federal Public
Social Security Service on cooperation in social welfare.
