Kyiv, August 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has said that a profound healthcare reform is being prepared in Ukraine.
“A profound comprehensive reform of healthcare is coming,” the president told the first-year students at the Bohomolets National Medical University in Kyiv on Friday.
The Health Minister will announce details of the proposed reform in a few weeks, the president said.
Yushchenko noted that Ukraine’s healthcare system should undergo comprehensive transformation, including reforms in family medicine, raising prestige of doctors and solving the issues of cardiovascular deceases, cancer and tuberculosis.
