Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko is still insisting that Ukraine's higher educational establishments should be more independent from the state.
He said this at a meeting with heads of Ukraine’s educational establishments in Kyiv on Monday.
The president said he would support colleges that are ready to take
charge of the educational process and organization of student life, as
well as to independently conduct financial transactions.
“I am ready to sign relevant decrees on those education institutions that are ready for such independence,” the president said.
