Ukraine's President Viktor Yushchenko on Tuesday will introduce Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, to service staff, Iryna Vannykova, the press secretary of the president, said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

“Today, the president will personally introduce the head of the Security Service to the personnel and management of the service,” she said.

According to Vannykova, Yushchenko believes that Nalyvaichenko showed high professionalism and commitment during the two years he was the Security Service’s acting head.

Yushchenko is sure that Nalyvaichenko will ensure the democratization of the Security Service and its insulation from political processes in the future, Vannykova said.
