You're reading: Yushchenko to make state visit to Poland

Kyiv, September 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko will make a state visit to Poland on September 7-8 at an invitation by Polish President Lech Kaczynski, the Ukrainian president's press service reported.

According to the visit’s program, Ukrainian and Polish delegations are scheduled to hold talks chaired by the two presidents. Yushchenko is also to meet with the Polish prime minister and the chairman of Sejm (the lower house of the Polish parliament). In addition, the Ukrainian president will lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

A memorial to the victims of Ukraine’s Famine of 1932-1933 will be opened at Wola Cemetery in Warsaw during the Ukrainian president’s visit.

Yushchenko is also to meet with local officials and members of the Ukrainian community in the town of Przemysl.
