New York, September 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has said that current Ukrainian-Russian relations are nothing to be proud of.
The Ukrainian president said this in his address to the Council on Foreign Relations in New York on Monday.
“They [Russian-Ukrainian relations] are not ones I
could be proud of,” the president said, adding that “neighbors should
have much better relations and be able to solve even difficult,
inherited questions.”
Yuschenko said he hoped that the time would come when “Russia will find the wisdom and ability to welcome [good] relations.”
The president also said that Ukraine and Russia have “an obvious positive form of relations.”
