New York, September 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The UN should form a special economic security council to deal with and prevent economic crisis situations such as this year's recession, Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko said while addressing the UN.
The president made this suggestion at the 64th UN General Assembly’s annual debate in New York on September 23.
“Perhaps, it is time to revisit the idea previously proposed by Ukraine and a number of other countries. I mean establishing the UN Economic Security Council. The scale of this proposal should not prompt us to shelve it or reject altogether,” Yushchenko said.
