Baturyn (Chernihiv region), August 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko is planning to sign a decree on creating the international foundation for the lovers of bandura, a Ukrainian national stringed instrument.
He said this while opening the Veresai Holiday art
festival (in honor of the famous Ukrainian kobza player Ostap Veresai)
in Baturyn, Chernihiv region, on Saturday.
“I declare the creation of the international
foundation for bandura lovers. I will sign such a decree in the near
future,” Yuschenko said.
He said that this foundation would unite both Ukrainian and foreign bandura lovers.
