Kyiv invites to discover Ukraine and the culture of Ukrainians
May 21-22, the second Ukrainian Tourist Festival ‘Welcome to Ukrainians’ will take place on the territory of M.M.Hryshko National Botanic Garden.
The event mission is to promote domestic tourism and to improve the culture of travel around Ukraine.
The event format is an open air presentation of tourist potential of Ukrainian regions invlolving their specific features, culture, natural resources and other cultural heritage.

Ukrainian embroideries astonish fashion elite of Dubai
March, 6 an Ukrainian embroidery evening took place in Dubai. The event united Ukrainian diaspora living in the UAE.
Beside Ukrainian designers’ clothes show, the guests were offered to taste Ukrainian national dishes and sing the songs.
As Andrii Sunko, one of the event organizers and manager of the lounge restaurant ‘Vesna’ says the evening was to introduce Ukrainian traditions and culture to the Middle East residents.
‘The event was also attended by local media and fashion elite of Dubai. They were astonished by the beauty of Ukrainian embroidery. After the show a few embroideries were bought’, Andrii says.
Ukrainians in the UAE plan to organize the similar event at Easter.

French satellite with made in Kharkiv heat exchanger
Kharkiv company FED won a tender from international company Thales Group for the supply of heat exchanger for French telecommunications satellite.
A heat exchanger is an element of a spacecraft supposed to accumulate energy generated by satellite system operation, which results both in heating and cooling of spacecraft elements. It stores energy and passes it to other satellite systems when it is necessary. The key advantage of Kharkiv heat exchanger is light weight and no driving elements. The heat exchanger was developed by FED company at Zhukovsky National Aerospace University. The detail design will be presented to the customer in the first quarter of 2016.
‘We were competing with the companies from USA, Germany, French. We can claim that Ukrainian machine building industry is entering European and international markets’, Viktor Popov, the head of FED, comments.

$500,000 for the best travel startup TripMyDream
Startup by Ukrainian company TripMyDream bested at international competition Speedstars Summit 2016, The Best Travel Startup nomination.
The competition cash prize is $500,000. In the final stage of the contest Ukrainian team was competing with European, African and American teams.
TripMyDream service helps to plan a trip without any specified destination. The user needs to choose departure airport, date, type of rest and budget. The service selects for him the best option.

Traditional embroidery of Podolia can be seen at Milan Fashion Week
Traditional embroidery of Podolia can be easily seen in a new collection Sportmax AW16-17 presented at Milan Fashion Week.
The dresses and blouses are similar to the shirts of Zalishchyky and Borshchiv districts (Ternopil Oblast) and Hlyboka and Zastavna districts of Chernivtsi Oblast.
Yurii Melnychuk (director general deputy on scientific work at ‘Ivan Honchar Museum’) says that this very embroidery and geometric patterns were used to decorate clothes dressed on the territory of Podolia at the end of 19th – at the beginning of the 20th centuries. The craftswomen embroidered clothes with woolen threads by using unique ‘curly’ seams.
