TERNOPIL - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says investors will not invest their money in Ukraine as long as there is a military conflict going on in the country.

“We now need to prepare for peace. Investors will not come to the country as long as the war is going on,” the president told reporters in Ternopil on April 2.

Poroshenko said the Ukrainian administration is forming an independent and just court in Ukraine “and we have to demonstrate the results.”

“We need to eliminate corruption. I have already signed a law on considerable deregulation, which will help create an investment climate.” Poroshenko said.

Poroshenko said he devotes all his time to the problem of a peaceful settlement.

“However, if we want new investment, new technologies that enable us to enter new markets, we have to finish this war. And I will not give any sweet promises because it’s hard work, to which I devote 24 hours a day,” he said.

At the same time, Poroshenko said he believes the war “does not justify a half of the reforms,” reiterating that all branches of power should work on that.
