The searches of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment (UCEQA) by the police won't affect the 2015 entrance campaign, according to the Ukrainian Education and Science Ministry.

“The Education and Science Ministry reports that searches, which are ongoing at the UCEQA, don’t threaten the entrance campaign,” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry also said that as of 1:30 p.m., no UCEQA employees were detained.

“Investigators, holding the operation, say that the search at the UCEQA is being carried out under the decision of Pechersky district court by the Prosecutor General’s Office [PGO] together with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Interior Ministry. The PGO is under the supervision of deputy prosecutor general Stoliarchuk,” the ministry said.

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Shokin said at a briefing on July 21 that the leadership of the UCEQA is suspected of abuse of office and that some of them might be detained in the near future.
