A day after dozens of people were killed in the worst violence since the beginning of the Ukraine uprising, the tit-for-tat machinations of pro- and anti-Russian groups continued across the country on Saturday. The ongoing clashes, which came as people mourned the death of at least 42 people killed in street battles between supporters and opponents of Russia in the Ukrainian city of Odessa – which is in the country’s south, far from the eastern area where previous violence has been concentrated – heightened fears that the country is edging closer to full-blown war.
