You're reading: Almost 40,000 school leavers from occupied Crimea, Donbas receive documents on secondary education

Over 38,000 school leavers from the occupied territories of Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions have received documents on their secondary education, the Education and Science Ministry of Ukraine has reported.

“We have issued over 21,7000 certificates and over 16,500 [high school] diplomas to residents of occupied Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions this year,” Deputy Education Minister Pavlo Poliansky said at a press conference in Kyiv on Aug. 25.

In addition, he said that in 2015 over 700 candidates from Crimea, and 20,500 – from Donetsk and Luhansk regions had entered higher education establishments in Ukraine.
