Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that almost 7,000 civilians died as the results of the conflict in Donbas and over 1,000 people have gone missing.

“An aggressive policy by our neighbor cost lives of almost 7,000 Ukrainian citizens, these are, by the way, UN data. Over 1,000 [people] have gone missing,” he said at a solemn meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on the anniversary of the victory over Nazism in Europe on May 8.

“A total of 1,675 Ukrainian soldiers gave their lives for out motherland, for our inevitable victory, as good always triumphs over evil,” he said.
