GENEVA — A Swiss court has ordered a Russian billionaire to pay more than $4.5 billion to his ex-wife in what could become the biggest divorce settlement in history.

A Swiss court has awarded the ex-wife of the Russian billionaire owner of French football club AS Monaco the equivalent of half his fortune in their divorce, a Geneva daily reported on May 19, 2014. Le Temps said that the Geneva court had on May 13 ordered Dmitry Rybolovlev to hand over four billion Swiss francs (3.3 billion euros, $4.48 billion) to his former wife Elena, who lives in the Swiss city.
