The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has delivered arms and military equipment worth Hr 150 million to the military, Deputy Defense Minister, Chief of Staff Petro Mekhed said.
“As of now, the troops have received arms and military equipment worth over Hr 150 million. These are modernized Bulat tanks, Su-25 aircraft, Stuhna-P antitank missile systems, Adros stations and Mi-8 MTV helicopters,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Oct. 31.
According to him, 500 modern red dot sights for small arms, six new prototypes of small arms manufactured by the state-owned research and production company Fort and 120 refurnished AK-47 machine guns have been delivered to the army.
In addition, he added that nearly 700 thermal imagers, over 600 modern small arms and new BTR-4E armored personnel carrier were expected to be delivered shortly.
According to Mekhed, Hr 1.268 billion of the budget funds were allocated for the procurement of arms and military equipment in 2014.
