The Donetsk City Council has said the last night was extremely uneasy, with explosions and heavy weaponry fire audible across the regional center.

The situation in Donetsk remained tense on Monday morning, Aug. 4 though
critical public utility services and public transport are working as
usual, the city council said.

Over 70 transformer substations are without power.

Power supplies resumed in the city’s Abakumovo area on Aug. 3. A
220-kilowatt substation in the Petrovsky district remains damaged and
several areas in the Kirovsky district, as well as the Holuby area in
the Leninsky district and the Petrovsky area remain without power. Also,
there are no electricity supplies to residential buildings in the
Zhovtnevy, Pryvokzalny, Vesele areas and the Zhovtnevy mine in the
Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk.
